The kids didn’t feel very well yesterday so we didn’t do a whole bunch. This time of year it is always hard to keep regular workloads all of us get a bit overloaded on a daily basis between weather, the holidays, the time change, the extra holiday electrical currents from Christmas lights flooding our brainwaves, and from the urgent vibe that seems to fill the air. It makes us all a bit off and unable to focus. I just go with the flow and try to get as much in as possible without causing meltdowns, from all of us!
My computer finally hit its last hooray so we had to get me another one. It all arrived yesterday and it was “family put computer together time”. Daniel was (is) obsessed with my four fans, especially my huge blue glowing fan with 11 blades! Oh, yes…I know you want my fan. The case that David picked out is gargantuan and I believe I could fit in there myself. Anyway we had fun putting it together it was rather easy. Here was the conversation during the process:
Background Ariel had been explaining to us how much she knows about computers.
Ariel: I cannot believe I’m like Spock because I am a scientist.
Having them look at the motherboard.
Me: What does that look like to you?
Ariel: Houses everywhere, a huge tower with a fan on top.
The computer is the huge brain for the motor.
The motor is the face, the keyboard is the legs, and the mouse is the arms.
Just like us we have wires in our head only they are body wires called nerves.
The battery for our bodies are food.
Pointing to the fan on top of the CPU.
Daniel:This is going to be the air conditioner.
Pointing at various other parts.
This is the fan house.
That power supply is a fan.
The fan has 11 blades.
Why does it have 11 blades?
Why is there four fans?
The case is the body.
Why is the case the body?
I have wires and a battery.
My battery is my heart.
Joshua: It’s like a space ship can go through there, it’s like the Death Star.
Mom, I didn’t touch anything on the motherboard.
Ariel is Spock, well I am just the captain.
Yes, he did speak in random phrases like that, pretty much he concluded that the whole thing was just like Star Wars and that it looked like Star Wars ships as well. I wish I had more from him, but he was too busy building Lego ships and stuff.
The past two days it has been Lego building, necklace making, painting, reading, some stamping time, yoga fun, and a whole lot of playing.
