Our craft fun for the day! This past year has been a huge progression for Daniel in the area of creativity and participation with crafts. He is on the autism spectrum and sometimes this stuff does not make sense or is definitely not any fun. He has had extra challenges with not being able to use scissors or be able to rip paper or handle things like glue. This year has been monumental in that he has done all of these things and continues to improve with trying them. (without meltdowns) It is a big deal that he is practicing.
Ariel and Joshua have helped him a great deal with using imagination and getting excited about the holidays. They have helped him see the fun in all of it and I think the biggest thing is that he sees how much they love that he is participating. It has helped him to connect and make sense of what holidays are and finding a logical reason to do crafts. Sibling therapy and family fun has been the best motivator for Daniel. Yea, crafts!
